What is in the cookbook
Twenty-two chapters in four parts: the everyday staples, restaurant at home, my mother's kitchen in one pot, and the Vietnamese table. A glossary of every Vietnamese word, with how to say it, and two indexes.
The arithmetic, shown
Rice, ground pork with fish sauce and black pepper, tomato and egg soup, and a cucumber salad with mint and peanuts. This is the table from page 585, line for line. Every recipe in the book is counted the same way, so you can put in your own shop's prices and the sum still closes.

Shelf prices seen 19 October 2026 on the online listings of one large US chain and one large UK chain, standard prices. About $3.25 / £2.43 a person. Four Weeks at Thu's Table does this for 28 nights in a row, with the shopping list in packs.
From Thu's kitchen
My name is Thu. You say it like "too". My mother cooked rice twice a day for ten people in one black pot over a wood fire, and she had no measuring cup and no clock. She had the bell of the lid, and she had her hands.
Everything in these books comes from the ordinary supermarket you already drive to, in America or in Britain. Where one trip to an Asian grocer is worth it, the book says so, and where it changes nothing, the book says that too.
If a book is not for you, reply to your receipt within seven days and you will have your money back. Keep the file.
Eat while it is hot, con.
"Con" means child. It is what my mother called me across that kitchen.
Questions
No. Each book is a PDF that you download and keep. Read it on your phone, your tablet or your computer, or print the pages you cook from.
Yes. After you pay, a download button appears on the screen, and the same link comes to your email. Press it and the book opens. If anything goes wrong, write to thu@grandmathuskitchen.com and the book is sent to you by hand.
No. You pay once. There is no subscription and no account to make.
The download link stays in the email you were sent. If that is gone too, write and say which email address you bought with, and the link is sent again.
Yes. Every recipe gives US cups and metric weights side by side, and its cost in dollars and in pounds from a UK supermarket. Where the names differ, both are given: cilantro (coriander), zucchini (courgette). The price is charged in US dollars and your bank converts it.
One heavy pot with a lid and a frying pan. Everything comes from the ordinary supermarket. Six things are worth one trip to an Asian grocer if you pass one; the book says which, and where the supermarket version is just as good.
Not really. It plans the cookbook's recipes and names them by their titles; it does not repeat them. Buy it with the cookbook, or on its own if you already have the cookbook.
They were seen on 19 October 2026, and every table says so. Prices move, which is why each line is shown and not only the total: put in your own and the sum still works.
Reply to your receipt within seven days and you get your money back in full. No form, and no reason needed. Keep the file.
